Clash Royale: Best Prince Decks (2025)

It's time to give the prince another chance.

Prince has been in Clash Royale since the beginning, and it’s always been one of my favorite cards. Prince hasn’t typically been a top meta pick over the years since he’s hard to play, but he’s seen some resurgence as of late. He’s a lot of fun to play, and the decks he fits into are quite strong right now. In this article, I’ll give a few tips for how to play Prince in general, then I’ll list the three best Prince decks right now!

How to Play Prince

Playing Prince can be complicated, even if it might not seem like it. His mechanics are very simple, so there isn’t much to think about there. He charges forward after not attacking for a short time, and his charge attack does significantly more damage than his normal one. However, his normal attacks still do a lot. He’s one of the higher-DPS troops in the game, especially considering his elixir cost. But while he isn’t that hard to figure out, playing him optimally can be. He’s easily countered since he only attacks one troop at a time, meaning you have to be cautious of literally any swarm (even 1 elixir Skeletons). He might not die easily, but he sure does get distracted easily.

Timing Princes so that they actually accomplish anything is the most important thing. You need strong backup to get them to a tower, but if you can, they do massive chunks of damage. Prince is extremely dangerous against most ground troops, it’s just swarms that cause him problems.

Goblin Giant + Furnace

Cards:

  • Goblin Giant (Evo)
  • Furnace (Evo)
  • Goblin Machine
  • Prince
  • Goblin Curse
  • Vines
  • Rage
  • Minions

Without a doubt, this is one of the best decks in Clash Royale right now. Maybe not this literal version (although I think it’s close), but the combo of Goblin Giant + Furnace is super popular. And for very good reason. Goblin Giant is a super effective tank, and his evolution makes him even better in that regard. Furnace then pairs great with him since it defends against flying troops and spams Fire Spirits. These two form the core of this deck, while Prince and Goblin Machine take on the more aggressive roles.

Prince fits the brawler role for this deck, often fighting behind Goblin Giant and helping take down towers. He’s also strong on the ground defensive side here since there aren’t many other options for non-swarms in this deck. Goblin Machine helps with this deck’s theme because he applies even more pressure, causes chaos, and does lots of damage. Pretty simple. Minions is also included for air defense since Furnace might not always be available.

Then we have all the spells. The first one is Goblin Curse, which got a buff recently. Now it’s all-in on defense, serving a similar role as Mother Witch by turning their swarms into your own. In fact, I’d say Goblin Curse is actually better than Mother Witch at this since you can just use it exactly at the right time rather than hoping Mother Witch doesn’t get Fireballed out of existence. Then there’s the brand new Vines card, which grounds flying troops, stuns them, and does damage. It’s a heavy-hitter for sure. Then I have Rage, which is best used on top of a huge multi-tank push and/or with Prince.

Lumberjack Prince

Cards:

  • Lumberjack (Evo)
  • Snowball (Evo)
  • Prince
  • Goblinstein
  • Goblin Hut
  • Goblin Curse
  • Berserker
  • Electro Spirit

This deck is a little more Prince-focused. Since he doesn’t a specific synergy he utilizes, it can be hard to make him truly the star of a deck, but this one gets close. Lumberjack’s Rage pool is the perfect ability for Prince to utilize, as his attack speed is one of the things setting him back. Then Lumberjack’s evolution also makes the Lumberjack itself more efficient at defending and contributing to pushes after death, so it gets even better. Snowball’s evolution also contributes to helping Prince, as it clears everything out of his path. A clear path is the key for Prince’s victory, as his charging attack is his best feature.

I also have a few other troops that are strong at defending and making counter pushes to help out the Prince. Goblinstein has quickly become of my favorite cards recently, especially with his recent buffs giving him more HP. His Champion ability also clears swarms and low-HP troops really well, which makes him stand out much more than some other tanks. Then there’s Berserker, which I feel similarly about. While cheap and not particularly flashy, Berserker’s damage is really strong. In the right circumstances (attacking tanks), she can actually accomplish a ton, especially considering her low cost.

The rest of this deck is just defense. Goblin Hut is a strong defensive tower now that it’s been buffed, and Goblin Curse is also really strong at swarm clearing. Since Furnace is so popular right now, Goblin Curse is almost always good. It’s cheap and counters Fire Spirits by turning them into your own troops, so I really love it. Then Electro Spirit fills the cycling role, allowing you to get back to casting Princes and other more valuable cards quicker.

Mega Knight + Wallbreakers

Cards:

  • Mega Knight (Evo)
  • Wall Breakers (Evo)
  • Prince
  • Archer Queen
  • Bandit
  • Ice Wizard
  • Arrows
  • Vines

And finally, a Mega Knight deck. It feels like it always comes back to Mega Knight in the end of these lists. But, to be fair, he is always strong with almost any card. His defensive power is huge, then he turns into a nightmare that feels impossible to counter when evolved. Pair that with the constant pressure of Wall Breakers for a deck that feels almost too aggressive. Then outside of those two strong cards, we have two more troops that can take an offensive role when needed: Prince and Bandit. They’re fast, cause tons of problems for enemy troops, and drop towers super fast whenever they can actually get to them.

For defending, my favorite card for this deck is Archer Queen thanks to her Champion ability allowing her to do so much DPS. Ice Wizard also helps, though, as he’s arguably more consistent thanks to his low cost. Prince and Bandit can also help with defense–in fact, that’s probably what you should spend the most time using them. Counter pushes are the name of the game here. After using all these troops to defend, you have to take advantage of the left overs to make your own push. Arrows helps with this by clearing swarms and allowing Prince and Bandit to reach towers, and Vines also helps in a similar way.

This deck is super aggressive and has answers for everything. You don’t have to be super careful (not more than usual at least), as no one card is any more important than the others here. Just make the most of what you have, focus on getting evolutions, and utilize Prince and Bandit to cause as much trouble as possible.
